A message from the Secretary Pete K Rahn...<br/>

I’m honored to serve the people of Maryland under Governor Larry Hogan as the State’s 14th Transportation Secretary.  I understand that transportation impacts everyone, every day. This job is a big responsibility, but also a big opportunity. Providing a balanced, reliable, safe, efficient and affordable transportation system is essential to all of Maryland’s citizens and businesses. As Transportation Secretary, I’m charged with managing a $4.9 billion annual budget (FY 2016) and leading more than 11,000 employees. Our six-year draft transportation budget, known as the Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP), reflects the planned investments of $15.5 billion from FY 2016 to FY 2021 across the State in transit, highways, the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore and the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Above and beyond this $15.5 billion investment, the Maryland Transportation Authority, an independent financial authority, provides $1.85 billion for toll facilities throughout the State.
