Primary Guidance Pre-fabricated metal buildings are most cost-effective type of construction. Minimum floor loading is 1200 psf. Assume bulk commodities will be stacked to the eaves. For roof loading, consider additional dead load to include solar panels or green roof, as agency energy and environmental programs require (~30 psf additional DL). For mission critical facilities located in areas susceptible to flooding, consider including a backup generator installed above the 100 year FEMA flood plain.
